3 Type of Interview Process

Sequential Interview

In a sequential interview, applicants are screened by other employees in the company first. If they are considered worthy of further consideration, they are interviewed by the next higher ranking person who decides either to pass them on to a more senior manager — or to hire them. This screening procedure eliminates unqualified people early, before they take a senior manager’s valuable time. Sometimes, two or more lower-level interviewers compare evaluations and choose a few top applicants for interviews with the executive who will make the final choice.

Serialized Interview

The personnel department or an administrative assistant screens out the obviously unqualified candidates according to specific guidelines. All candidates who meet the basic qualifications are interviewed by at least two other company representatives.
